Which one is the winner in your opinion?

Depends on what main speakers you are running.

The 350 will match perfectly with the LS series (50,70,90) - and the 400i will match perfectly with the original RT and RTi series.

That being said though, the differences are subtle, so either should blend well with *most* Polk RTx setups.

I personally, prefer smaller drivers (ala 350) for center channel duty. I have found that the smaller <=5 1/4" seem to produce more natural, discernable vocals. 6.5"'s in general tend to lean to the chesty, muddy side, whether set to 'small' or not (which imo defeats the reasoning behind buying a 'larger' center anyway, so moot point in my book)

My opinion, without knowing what you have already, go for the 350 and don't look back.

Cheers,
Russ

I've got both and the 400 is currently the head to head champion on my tv. I am not running a sub, so I require a little more bass from my center and the 400 fulfills this duty better than the 350. The 350, however, performs very admirably and is esoterically hands down a better looking speaker. I think Polk realized the importance of making good looking center channels instead of big boxes and have gone back to the 350 style cabinets in the new csi line of speakers.
