How are the drivers in the SRT subs mounted? Are they on the front, sides or inside? Any photos? Thank you.:D

I think they are front mounted with a power port on the bottom....but not 100% positive.

I believe they're inside the cabinet just like those Paradigm PDR subs.

The SRT subwoofers are inside the enclosure, vented at the bottum by a power port if im not mistaken. The grills on the front are there just for looks...

if they are like the rti100 subg they are pointed towards the back of the speaker and enclosed from the mid drivers. the port only vents the back of the driver. but then again i never opened up an srt

The 10 inch woofer is enclosed in the center of the subwoofer, firing down inside, not on the back, but like in an inner baffle (based on pics from har)

Come on Sid, admit it. You're guessing. The spec's state 35 active drivers in the system. No mention of any passives:rolleyes:

I never said I was right...

I said that it COULD be passive...

It probally DOES have dual 10's...jeeeeeeeez...it IS ok..

I have heard the SRT subwoofer(s)....and I would pay 1 grand for them things, easy...AWESOME subwoofers

I do think that grille issue is correct, it is just for aesthetics.

Har would know, but he doesn't participate with us anymore.

One SW1080 10" woofer each cabinet
One SW1081 10" woofer each cabinet

look at the model numbers......im thinking theres two in each cabinet. why would there be passive drivers in a ported inclosure?

I did go digging, and I found pictures from Har_navalta refinishing his SRT's. (see link above) I don't know what side is up in the picture. However I think it is safe to assume there are 2 - 10" drivers. And they do face to the front or to the rear.:)

Yes yes there is, in that pic the sub is upside down... (notice port on the top (bottum) in that pic)

I would guess that it fires to the port...my guess, but it is on a baffle....firing ;) I figured it would be a tad different lol

The 10"ers (two per side) are mounted on a vertical center board firing into the cabinet which ports to the bottom.

Subs are mounted inside the cabinet, about halfway, facing forward 2 10 inch both active. You cannot see the drivers with the grills off, only wood cabinet .I had a SRT system for 3 years. Hope that helps

the subs are in a band pass setup to make the box smaller and to get more output for the driven power driveing.

Hello,
The SRT bass unit has two internally mounted 10" woofers in a band pass enclosure with a downward operating Power Port. They are powered by a self-contained 300 Watt continuous bass amplifier.

To try to sort the confussion, I currently own and have pulled apart on many occassions the SRTs, for the record they have;
2 x 10' subs each cabinet
they both face forward and are mounted inside the cabinet about a third to half of the way back,
there is a downward facing port the same as the RT and RTi active series of speakers but bigger of course
they are 300 watts rms per channel and they go down to 16 hz,
hope this clears things up, there is only a couple of others that know above what the correct answer was, and this should confirm it.
Great site by the way, will enjoy many hours searching through it.
