Hey guys, great forum. My question is this. I have 96 Eddie Bauer Explorer with the premium JBL stock stereo. It had a 6 inch sub in the back that was already crossed over through the stock amp, which is really weak. Is there any way that I could take advantage of the already existing connections to the stock weak amp? Maybe I should rip apart my trim and look before I ask, but I thought I'd try. BTW, I just got 2 mm120's in a sealed box. Thanks
I would suggest running new cable for your system. The stock wiring is too small for high powered, high current amplifiers. Plus you will be able to restore the vehicle to its original factory condition when you want to sell it by not cutting up the factory harness and use a harness adapter for the radio wiring, part number 70-5511. Metra is a good source for these adapters. You can reach them at 800-221-0932 and they will be able to locate your nearest dealer.
Thanks,
Kim
