It's coming and soon...according to this article over at TheDigitalBits.com (http://www.thedigitalbits.com/articles/wces04/report.html) .
Columbia TriStar's Ben Feingold told the gathering that Blu-ray Disc is being positioned for launch in the U.S. in 2005 or 2006, and that it will be supported by prepackaged high-definition movies from the studio.
I knew this was going to happen within a couply years after D-VHS hit market.
Read the entire article, it's very, very interesting.
Peace Out~:D

Thanks Ron, I have been researching sence CES. They said the Blu- Ray made much more presence than HD-DVD. The Blu-Ray can read/hold 50 gigs and the HD-DVD 30 gigs. And for longer movies the 30 gig may not be enough. Seeing how much goes into HD - the standard DVD now holds 9 gigs.
Still looking at sometime in 2005 but it is coming - all TV's to be digital by 2007.

I'd like to imagine (soon to be a reality)...
...a 3 or 4 disc Blu-ray release of the ENTIRE Lord of the Rings trilogy in high-definition, with tons of extras.
It's getting about that time to upgrade the Front Projector to a hi-def model.
Peace Out~:D

Ron, you are not even running 480p on your projector. My projector is the only HD out of my 3 HT setups.

I'm running 480p, but the native rez of my 200u is only 858x484, unlike yours or say the Panny 300u or 500u which is 1280x720.
I bought this knowing all too well that I'll be upgrading within 2 years after projector technology improves and prices drop.
Peace Out~:D
