In my search around town for a good used record player I found a Samsung LD player, it comes with 180 movies (all in really good shape) and a few kirioke sp? disks.
My question: is the quality of the recording comparabel to DVD? What is the Audio quality like? Is there much of a following for the "software" or is it still available?
I am thinking I might pick it up if I could sell some of the movies to off set the price of the package.
Thanks

How much are they asking for it? If the price is right, I'd go for it especially with 180 movies. The sound is pretty damn good. A lot of movies were released in DD and DTS. Make sure the player is DD and DTS compatible or else you'll be listening to pro-logic.

The player is not DTS or DD compatible, many of the titles are in DD and DTS tho....
I should be able to get the whole package for $400.00 CAD.

I'm not too sure - it does not have a digital output, it only has stereo left and right RCA style outputs on the unit. No digital coax ir tosslink optical out's unless there is a different syle of plug that I am not looking for.

bummer... perhaps it was just before ac3 then? Oh well but the 2 channel probably sounds pretty darn good.
