One of my favorites from this band.

Oh hell... i had totally forgotten about this band. Thanks for pointing that back out, now i have something to listen to the rest of the day at work.

Me? Right now i'm reliving my high school days. Stuck on track:

Fuel - "Shimmer"

I'm learning to play guitar, and this is a neat, simple riff.

Currently jamming some Phish.

I have never really been a fan till recently. I heard a concert on TV the other day for a band called Moe. When i went to pandora and listened they are similar to Phish so i have been rocking out the Moe pandora channel for a week or so.

If you haven't heard of Moe you should check them out.

This is a very good sounding CD that still holds up well musically 39 years later IMO. This version includes 3 tracks from prior albums a couple of out-takes and a radio interview with Ian Anderson. It is basically a remaster of the 25th Anniversary Special Edition remaster from 1996. It is sonically much better than the original CD and nearly on par with the LP.

1991 Epic EK-47390

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51n8Kpho6JL._SL500_AA240_.jpg

The first "compilation" album released after his death. But it really isn't a "greatest hits" album...but 10 previously unreleased tracks spanning his career. Afterward came the plethera of greatest hits albums...but none compare with this one. There could be conversation that this may be equal to "In Step"...an album many consider to be the best he ever produced. I would not argue. "The Sky is Crying", this version of "Little Wing", "May I Have A Talk With You" and "Life By The Drop" are exceptional. A must have SRV album!

Well I'm stuck on it now that you mention it. Anything else as vocal that someone can recommend me? It seems like some build a system around the type of music they listen to.....well I listen to various categories of music and would like to listen to something I can appreciate on these babies

Hey Freddy,

This list should keep you busy for a while. I know the music below well (except for Alison Krauss, just started to listen to her and love it, thanks to SNOW) and can assure a good listen on your Maggies. Enjoy!

Females:

Cassandra Wilson - "My One and Only Love" and others from: "Blue Skies"

Cassandra Wilson and Diana Krall - "Days of Wine and Roses" (from the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" Soundtrack

Anything by Sara K.

Anything by Alison Krauss.

Lila Downs - "La Malagueña" - From "La Sandunga" Bonus Track

Males:

Michael Franks - "Sleeping Gypsy"

Instrumental/Guitar:

Strunz and Farah - "Primal Magic", "Heat of the Sun"

Oregon - "Out of the Woods"

Andreas Wollenveider - "White Winds"

N/P I love how ST/Infectious combine a few style's of music and assault our ear's with a fast, hard, funky original sound :)

Trullio's bass is PHENOMINAL! Personally i think he is wasting his time playing with metallica right now. I like metallica just not 99% of their stuff since enter sandman :o

Amy Grant - Behind The Eyes

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/419BPSP4N6L._SL500_AA240_.jpg

An overlooked album (IMO) that has become one of my favorites over the years. Not the Contemporary Christian that started her career, or the Pop that she later attempted...but something totally different that I really like. The writing of the songs was excellent. Very somber, introspective, thought provoking body of work as it was during the time she was having problems with her marriage with her husband Gary Chapman (they divorced soon after it was released).

I think yesterday was the anniversary of the fitz goin' down

Actually it is Nov. 10th, next Tuesday. Here are the lyrics to the song:

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy.

With a load of iron ore - 26,000 tons more
Than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty
That good ship and crew was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early

The ship was the pride of the American side
Coming back from some mill in Wisconson
As the big freighters go it was bigger than most
With a crew and good Captain well seasoned.

Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
And later that night when the ships bell rang
Could it be the North Wind they'd been feeling.

The wind in the wires made a tattletale sound
And a wave broke over the railing
And every man knew, as the Captain did, too,
T'was the witch of November come stealing.

The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the gales of November came slashing
When afternoon came it was freezing rain
In the face of a hurricane West Wind

When supper time came the old cook came on deck
Saying fellows it's too rough to feed ya
At 7PM a main hatchway caved in
He said fellas it's been good to know ya.

The Captain wired in he had water coming in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went out of sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Does anyone know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her.

They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains are the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters.

Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the ruins of her ice water mansion
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams,
The islands and bays are for sportsmen.

And farther below Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered.

In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed
In the Maritime Sailors' Cathedral
The church bell chimed, 'til it rang 29 times
For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald.

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they say, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

I've been stuck on the same one for quite awhile now. 97.3 Joe FM pretty much 60's to present and covers a lot of different genres. I Believe they are out of Saginaw, Michigan.

Royal Court of China - Self titled debut album

I found this gem in box of promo's way back when. The band is from Nashville (my favorite city in the world). They have a following though and I really like them.

Joe Blanton:

"Robert Logue found the name in a magazine interview of The Firm. Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers were asked about why they chose The Firm as their name and they anwsered that they first wanted to call the band, "The Royal Court of China." We decided to take the name for ourselves. Given Jimmy Page's penchant for heroin, there may have been a relationship with the drug slang but we were unaware of it at the time. Later, Paul Rodgers tried to use the name for his new band and found out that we had already licensed it. Good thing we had Led Zep's and Bad Company's business manager as our own business manager."

Time to relax with a little jazz after a fun day of sealing and insulating ductwork. If you haven't heard him play, he is frequently compared to Miles Davis, but he's got a little Ornette Colemen in him too. This one features his quartet quite a bit and is really nicely recorded

Had a couple days off this week so I'm listening to a lot of music. I picked up a couple of discs tonight. One is the DualDisc remaster of Little Creatures (Talking Heads) which sounds really good. My original CD copy is a little thin in comparison.

But I gotta say I'm really digging Thievery Corporation right now. This is the 2006re-release of their first effort.
