I'll check her out. Thanks. Do you like/know Kasey Chambers? Barricades and Brickwalls is one of her better songs IMO. Also check out this other gal band called Scanners, the song is Baby Blue. Grooveshark.com has all of the songs I've mentioned so far.

Kasey Chambers, I absolutely love her!! I have most of her work, except her last couple... Great music IMO!

"Revival" is brand new to me, and that was my first listen last night, so I won't make any recommendations from that album just yet.

"Time" is also new to me, but I already knew and loved "Dear Someone" and "I Want To Sing That Rock And Roll" from it.

From the "Hell Among The Yearlings" album I love these:

"My Morphine" & "I'm Not Afraid To Die"

You must have a taste for this kind of music, but I love it myself.

It is music in its' purest form, and it is beautiful to me...

For anybody who is a Jazz fan, I just received this box set from Amazon today.

I was afraid the sound quality may not be the best, given that the 25 CD set sells for only $45, or less than $2 per CD.

If the rest of the discs sound anywhere near as good as the Miles Davis "Kind Of Blue" does, this set is a steal!! It is a Sony release, so I assumed the quality would be good...

There is also a second set in the series, selling for $50. I think I'm going to go order that as well...

It is an excellent set, and an absolute steal for $45!!

I liked it so much after listening to the first couple of discs that I immediately went and ordered the 2nd box set in the series, and it just arrived today...:biggrin:

I stumbled upon this on iTunes and had to buy the CD. It is fantastic. Mostly acoustic that draws upon Malian and Guinean folk style. Very well recorded IMHO.

I have a DTS 5.1 mix of Abraxis on "CD". It is literally the worst mastering of an album I have ever heard. It is terrible. When you posted the picture of the DVD-A of Shaman, it reminded me of that DTS mix of Abraxis. I cannot recommend it at all.:eek:

I just aquired the Shaman DVD-A disc, and it sounds very good. I no longer have a 5.1 setup, so I am listening to it in 96khz stereo...

Gorgeous!!

This is a stock photo. They actually sound even better than they look. Only tried out a few different types of music so far. The real test will be to play some organ and chamber music to see how rthey really perform. Listened to some Diana Krall,Allison Krauss and a few classic rock songs from Zeppelin so far. Took a piss break and I come on here,lol. Guess I need to get my priorities straight huh. Back to the music.

Just finished the Mark Knopfler's Sailing to Philadelphia Album

Currently: Tool - Salival - No Quarter , which is a great version of the Zeppelin original. Now dont get me wrong, i'm no "Cover" or "Tribute" fan but this one I can live with! Captured the essence of the original while stepping it up a notch.

Next: hmmm, Buckingham Nicks

BTW - first post. I cant believe how lively the Polk Audio forum is. What, its a speaker company. COOL! And I understand why. I have a pair of Original RTA12s. Vertical Tweeter version. Original right? I like the x-over mod threads, I think im going to have to try that.

I've only listened to it once so far, and I am in love with this album. She is actually a Youtube artist and this is her first album. I will be definitely be buying it...and I don't buy digital downloaded music, but I will make an exception for this one. Highly recommended!
