Wow, I haven't pulled out this piece of vinyl in awhile. I really love the older Jewel albums, and I was also lucky enough to see her in concert back in the good old days. However, when she released 0304 and started going through the "pop" phase, uggghhhh. I've heard some of her newer stuff is supposed to be closer to her roots, but I haven't listened for myself yet. Any thoughts on that Rick?

I have all of Jewel's music, with the exception of said 0304 album, and consider myself a huge fan... I also saw her in concert in around '99... I do feel that on the 0304 album they went with a more pop style/sound, that was not to my liking, Jewel is at her best with the folky stuff IMHO... The newer material is pretty good but I believe Pieces Of You and Spirit were her best... If you are even a casual fan of Jewel and want a real treat, check out this 2 Blu-Ray set if you haven't already... It has great performances by Jewel, adorable banter in between songs, fantastic picture and sound quality, and some very nice eye candy to boot!!

Rick, how did mono Dylan compare to your SACD.
I want to listen to both again (at a time when I can turn it up a little) to further evaluate the differences, but I have some initial thoughts. As I suspected the mono mix places Bob, his guitar, and harmonica right in the center of the soundstage where it belongs. At times I could close my eyes and imagine being in the front row of an intimate setting listening to Bob live, it was great. While the SACD sounds very good, it is annoying and unnatural to hear Bob in the middle, and his instruments in either the left or right speaker. This is why I wanted to try out these mono recordings, and also why I want the mono Beatles box set. I am anxious to compare the mono mixes of Blonde On Blonde and John Wesley Harding to the SACDs as well...

Nice Rick. How do they sound?
My early impressions are very favorable. I decided to get them for nearfield listening in the wee hours of the night on the weekends, to (hopefully) not disturb my neighbors. I'll listen to my main setup until midnight or so, then switch to my pc setup. Next I'll be getting a quality DAC to improve things even more...

Reasonably priced too from what I could find. Sounds like something I might throw under the tree for the kids.

Yeah, I got them for $184 from ZZounds. I was originally looking at the similar size Mackie and KRK models, but they are both $300 per pair and I didn't want to spend that much. The reviews I read on the Alesis were all favorable, so I decided to try them out.

If you need longer, you can extend it with a male/female extension cord. Best $100 i spent in stereo equipment. Robbie Robertson; how to become Clairvoyant.
