Gov't Mule - Dose, High and Mighty, Live at Roseland Ballroom, Deepest End (all of Gov't Mule's stuff is great, but these stand out for me).
Allman Brothers Band - One Way Out, An Evening With (I like the first set better). This will give you great examples of Warren in the Allman Brothers band both with Derek Trucks and with Dickey Betts.
I'm assuming you already have both Warren Haynes Band releases. If not, I would get both of those, but I would get Live At Moody Theatre first, mainly for the DVD, but also because the original songs sound so good stretched out, and because the covers are so awesome. There is a lot of range on that album.

Yep, I meant Amazon. I know what you mean, I rarely go to B.B. anymore. It is so easy to order from Amazon, and most of the time their prices are cheapest. And being a Prime Member with 2-day delivery is pretty sweet!!

Ever since I first heard the title track to this album, I can't help but wonder if Gillian Welch & David Rawlings were travelling through my home town when they wrote it (they have played here and in nearby Ithaca), and the "Corning" in the song is actually my town? I know there is also a Corning, Iowa (Johnny Carson was from there). I have tried to find out to no avail...
Lyrics:
Darling remember when you come to me,
I'm a pretender; I'm not what I'm supposed to be
But who could know if I'm a traitor?
Time's the revelator.
They caught the Katy and left me a mule to ride
The fortune lady came along, she walked beside
But every word seemed to date her
Time's the revelator
The revelator.
Up in the morning, up and on the line
Drive into Corning, and all the spindles whine
And every day it's getting straighter,
Time's the revelator
The revelator.
Leaving the valley, *ucking out of sight
Think I'll go back to Cali where I can sleep out every night
And watch the waves and move the faders
Time's the revelator
The revelator.
Queen of fakes and imitators
Time's the revelator.

Yeah, you are probably right. There is also a Corning in Arkansas & California I now see. Oh well, it would be very cool if it was my town. It's now my bedtime, see you all tomorrow...

It's a good one. Maybe not my first recommendation for someone new to Gov't Mule, as it has a lot of covers, and a lot of guests. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it might be a little cumbersome, and might not give you the best picture of what the Mule is about. However, the first 6 tracks of Disc One (up to New Year's Eve), are classic Gov't Mule as a trio with the late, great Allen Woody, and are simply astounding.

Hello everyone!!
I'm very excited to receive my latest order from Amazon on Monday!! I've been wanting the 3 Rush "Sectors" box sets ever since they came out, and I've been keeping an eye on the price waiting for it to come down or go on sale. Last night before I went to bed I saw that the prices dropped on all 3 saving me around $20, so I pulled the trigger finally. I can't wait to hear them!!
Then, this morning when I got on Amazon before work, I saw that Billy Joel's "The Stranger" SACD has dropped from $31 down to $24 and change. I wish it would have been at that price last night as I'd have put it on the same order with the Rush sets...
