2 Points:
For everyone that got on the Santana bandwagon after the rave reviews of Supernatural with all of the "star" duos back in 1999....Unless you've gone back and listened to the early albums between 69 and 76...You haven't heard Santana. IMO nothing done lately compares to the Latin, Rock, Jazz, Blues combination that was Santana's sound in the early days.
And for everyone that says SACD is not worth the effort or the $....You don't know what you're missing!
Obviously, I REALLY enjoyed this CD tonight!

Ah, you're right! I didn't understand it was a "real time" kind of thing. So, right now all that I'm listening to are the clicking of the keyboard keys, the little fan to the right of my monitor, other folks voices, in the background. Only Micah has a decent sound system where he works, his "inner sanctum".
The Roy Buchanan record is pretty cool, it comes in a burlap bag, with the title stenciled in red and black paint. His label was BIOYA which stood for Blow It Out Your Ass. Nobody thought the record was legit, they thought it was some bootleg lp. It took me several years to get this one.

I've been listening to alot of Drive By Trucker's lately. Decoration Day and Southern Rock Opera. If you happen to like "Southern Rock" these guys are the real deal. Whereas Skynyrd has turned into some kind of mutated tribute band, Patterson Hood and DBT deliver the goods, these fellas rock. Better yet they have something too say. That is what was so great about The original Skynyrd, Ronnie had something to say and he knew how to say it.
I think I'll go put "Second Helping" on now.

Just wrapped up my first pass at a new to me CD from Lynyrd Skynyrd, "Skynyrd's First: The Complete Muscle Shoals Album". Have to say I was very impressed. Very good stuff musically and SQ-wise... Yes, the version of "Free Bird" you know is better than this earlier one, but this is not your typical "alternate takes" disappointment.
Stumbled across it surfing BMG, and the AMG review (http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:7zc1z8ha1yv5) sold me. If you are a LS fan, give it a shot...
