What would a fair price be on a nice set of sda 1b's with interconnect cable and original boxes?

The Bluebook is $425.00, but SDA's usually go for more than what the Bluebook says. Probably closer to $500-550.00.

Most 1b's and 1c's that I've seen close in the 6-700 range on auction. $500 would be a no-brainer deal.

Cheers,

I would try and work on those prices, but you do have an advantage getting them local, you can check them out before you buy them and you are able to completely remove shipping cost and damage possiblities. So paying a little more, may actually save you some money, just a thought.

No these arent local, the guy emailed me after seeing me bid on a pair on ebay that i lost out on,but he quoted me the price based on my last bid, which i am glad i didnt win because 900.00 is insane for a set of 1a's.The same guy that had the auction on the 1b's also just emailed me and said the winning buyer backed out and wondered if i was still interested ,but he is also high on what he wants. What to do, what to do,keep looking i guess:(

I am trying to make a deal for a pair of SDA 2b from a local guy in my area. He is offering me these speakers for $800 and is willing to negotiate after I told him that the avarage is $400. He's is the original owner but does not have the box. He said that the speakers are in mint condition and have never been repaired. I will come by to his place to check it for myself. He is old and a Finance Director in Wells Fargo Bank. He said that they are sitting in the garrage, taking up some space. I will let you guys now how the transaction goes.

Any suggestions from the SDA owners on what should I look for when checking out the speakers? I've read a couple threads and learned to check if the tweaters have been replace or not. Ofcourse the obvious, scratches on the cabinets and serial numbers at the back.... Thank you

$400.00 is tops, don't pay anymore than that. Make sure they have the interconnect cable and gently push in (evenly) on the mid-drivers, they should move in and out without any scratchy noises.

"He is old and a Finance Director in Wells Fargo Bank." So what, he's older than you. Don't knock it, with a little luck you'll be old one day too.
