Hi all. I finally got my money back. :) I went to Ultimate Electronics to purchase a Denon AVR-982(on clearance for $450), but they were completely out, and none of the other stores had any left either. They had a couple of display receivers for sale, the Yamaha and a Pioneer Elite. The original price for the Yamaha was over $2,500, and I really liked the build quality, the connections, weight(darn thing weighs 62 lbs!), so I decided on that one. There were a couple of small scratches on the corners, but they're hardly noticiable. I put some black electrical tape on the corners so I wouldn't bump them trying to get the thing installed. It took quite a while to get everything hooked up and calibrated, but I think it was worth it. This thing sounds friggin incredible! Do you guys think I did ok? I went from the Yamaha RXV-430 to a top of the line receiver. Granted, it was top of the line a couple of years ago, but still. I think it sounds great. I also purchased a Velodyne CHT-8 from Circuit City to replace my Polk PSW202. Jesus Christ! I didn't think there would a big difference between the 2, but wow! I've never felt bass like that in my own home. Anyways. I'm almost done with my upgrade. I just have to get my Polk RTi28's for my surrounds, and a decent 32 inch TV. Then I should be done...until next year...
Thanks,
Thomas
