I've recently purchased my HT speakers and am now in the process of investigating 7.1 A/V recievers. There are many references in these forums as to which receivers sound best with certain speaker types. I would like to enlist your help/opinions on which brand of receivers would compliment my speaker set.
Front: Polk RTi10
Center: CSi5
Sub: PSW505
Surrounds: RCi60
Back Surrounds: RCi60
I'm leaning towards the Yamaha RX-V1400 or 2400 based on reviews and receiver functions. I have no idea how it would sound with these speakers however.
Thanks in advance for your input.
Greg

Ahhh..good point. I'd like to keep it under $1000
Hmm...
Pioneer Elite
Sony ES
Marantz
Denon
Out of the 4, I would highly recomend Sony ES and Pioneer Elite
Oh man!
YAMAHA! Forget the other 4! The new Yamaha series are KILLER! GO YAMAHA!!!!!

Better yet go find a dealer that will let you audition the equipment in your home with your speakers and make your decision based on what sounds good to you. It may take some effort on your part, but at least you'll be sure of your purchase and not second guessing your decision.
Just a random thought.

I would add NAD to the list above. The Denon 3803 will be near the top in terms of user friendliness. The NAD will be near the top in terms of sound quality, raw power and ability to drive hard loads (for future speakers that may be 4 ohms).
Here's an authorized retailer w/ warranty and good deals on refurbs / new:

If you like the Denon, 6th Ave was selling the 3803 for $699 a few weeks ago. You might want to check to see if they are still doing that.
Listen to as many as you can and compare prices to get the best deal. Most of all have fun too while you're at it.

I was going to list NAD, but wasnt sure if they had a 7.1 receiver?
If they do for a grand, go with NAD.

You are right Trey. Missed that. Only 6.1 under a grand.
