Polk MOMO vs. ed 10k

I know this is a Polk forum and the opinions that i may receive might be biased but i'd like to know what you guys think is a better sub. The Polk MM 104 or the ed10k?

get a av12 or av 15 from stryke audio 23mm of x max and a cool looking sub i kust love to watch my sub dance. 1 av15 is distroying my old setup in sq and spl i mean wow... 175 for 12 and 200 for 15

agreed, ED is talked about like its a great sub, but some of the people who like them are assholes that wont give you any help at all

Never. I will disuade people from ever buying anything ED for the rest of my life based merely on the actions of ED supporters and proprieters. I could not care less what it looks or sounds like.

so ya -- i guess if somebody gave me an ED sub free and run it over with my 38" swamper tires (which are for sale by the way as soon as i get them off the truck -- they've got 500 miles on them.. brand new -- guy put em on just before he sold the truck).

The eD sub is probably better than the polk sub. I know some of them eD guys, and they are all very knowledgable. They are not illiterate asshats or whatever you would like to call them.

Im not saying that polk sucks, but eDs products are definitely very good and should be considered.

To the original poster - I recommend posting this comparison elsewhere as this is a polk forum and the eD sub will get bashed, and same may go at the eD forum, but last time it happened at the eD forum, everyone gave the polk a chance and told the guy to buy both and see which one he liked better.

And if you just dont like eD for the flat cones, then look again, they just released a new series that arent flat cones. And all of the eD people are really nice. not assholes and are very well educated and really know their stuff.

It's got nothing to do with the brand of speakers, it's got everything to do with the quality of the character of the people behind those products and it is severely lacking. It only goes to show the quality of your character in your association with them.

Maybe you don't get that. There are more to people then just flesh and bones.

Uhhh, last I checked, the owner of ED was in on the posting too and actually PROUD of the way his customers behaved. That says something about the guy.

As far as what I use, you can't get it anymore. At least not easily. Besides it's Polk Audio stuff and you hate Polk anyway so you can't blame me for your pre-existing condition of Polk Audio hatred.

2.) You have yet to do anything of the sort. You sit there making lame comments and slamming everything that anyone recommends. You're a troll. Simple as that.

3.) So go hang out in the home audio forums. Remember point number one? It's called freedom and if people make the choice to purchase Polk Audio equipment, it's thier choice. It's also your choice to try to dissuade them. What makes you a lamer asshole is that you choose to do it on the site that Polk Audio runs, supports and pays for. Why not go to cardomain.com or something and bash Polk Audio there?

ignoring the dicks at caf and the bad blood here (some warranted, most not imo) i would say not eD. this is an opinion based solely on personal preference and physics. cones flex - this is a natural truth. there is a reason that cones are shaped like a cone - it's the same reason that bridges have arches. flat things flex when you push on them, no matter how strong they are. the flat eD's bend and don't sound as good.

let me say this - they should be dicks, LOL if I would have bought those subs I would be irrate for having a flat woofer that looks so cheaply made. My no name brand home stereo speakers look better built than those.

looks arent everything
but just b/c of the way the OWNER of ED came to this forum and was PROUD of all the bs that was said here....thats just something i dont want to be associated with

Some of the best subs I've owned (and still do) have large flat centers, with a cone, so kind of a combo design. Best of both worlds I guess. They are RF Punch Audiophiles (not the regular Punches), about 10-years old I think.
