I have a pair of LS400's and I noticed that one of my tweeters is "blue".
Here is the blue one ... http://www.bokelleher.com/138_3861_2.jpg
Here is the "normal" one....

Is this bad? I don't notice any popping, hissing or tone deficit.
Thanks in advance.

That was my thought. The LS series as I know it is the 50, 70, and 90 mains and the CS350LS center

Could it be a RT400.....

Not with a tri-lam, the RT400 had a 1" black silk dome. (didn't you just get a single the other day, or was that someone else?)
It LOOKS like a first gen LS series trilam, but the 400 is throwing me.

CS400 maybe, and he has two of them??
Scratch that I see a driver below the tweeter in the second picture
No Idea

Just looked at my LS50's and my 350 and they look exactly like those (except not blue)

That was me...I know where a new one is that I CAN buy cheap....I am trying to find another before I bought it. I did not look that closely at the tweeter but it is a Polymer dome and yes...it is black....my mistake. See... I guess I was hoping that they were the RT400s and I could convince the guy one was shot because it was discolored and he would sell them to me....

Thats the special one in a million tweeter. Return it to polk and they will give you in return a complete SRT system. It is kinda cool looking.

Look at the outer brown-ish rim of the tweeter and compare it to the other bright silver one. Yep... this is a cooked tweeter. My guess - clipping. The coil got so hot that it started to melt the coating. You were VERY CLOSE to bringing this tweeter to non-functional.

If it's still under warranty, you should be able to get a new one. Polks pretty good about that.
