They are building a Fry's Electronics near my work and was curious what people that have dealt with them think of them as a company. Do they have good prices, selection, and so on. Any thoughts?

They have outrageous prices! Service is mediocre at best. You'll be happy they're nearby.

Fry's (outpost.com) has ads almost every day usually on the last page of the sports or biz page. Fridays are the big ads. Rebates suck there, I'll still waiting on a rebate since Dec. Bad service but cheap prices on a lot of stuff. As Fry's says: Your best buys are at Fry's <g>

Found that most of the time sales people have no clue, but the prices are there. Every once in a while you will run into someone who knows what they are talking about, but often I am much more knowledgeable...and that is damn scary!

Their sales prices are usually better than most chain electronic stores and their selection is huge by comparison. I also like the fact that you can buy a bunch of electronics stuff to tinker with there, like solar panels, microcontrollers, etc.
One word of warning though, when buying something ALWAYS look at the boxes and try not to get one with a little white Fry's electronics sticker on it with an employees initials. It basically states that someone has returned that item and Fry's wants to now sell that open item to you as new. Not cool in my book.
However, the little stickers do have one benefit. If I can't decide between two or more similar items, I can usually easily rule out an item if I see there are more "returned" versions of that item than there are "new" ones.
And oh yeah, their rebates usually suck since they deal with brands that are smaller and not as well known. I had a CDRW rebate that I never got because the company moved or went out of business or something. Wasn't worth the hassle to fight it. I also had a rebate on a cheap power supply that was sent to me hand written. I coulnd't believe it. Must be a TINY company.

Fry's is cool, but as POG said, avoid the white stickers.
