as long as there's a ground within 18 inches and the amp is less than 90 degrees out of horizontal, you're golden. if the amp is more upside down than vertical, the heat can radiate back up into the amp from the sinks and do bad things. I have my c300.2 mounted on the back of my rear seat; its totally hidden, its great, and i've had no problems

youll need to back your seat with some type of wood most of the time, and make sure it has enough clearance...it needs about 2" to stay cool

Well, it would be a little tipsy, as in upside down. Just about 110* id say...
and what did you mean by 2" as long as its 2" clear every direction?

I have had a RF BD500 mounted directly to my backseat. Never had a problem.

you need about 2" "buffer" away from anything to make sure its gets proper cooling
every side except the back...obivously
