Hey guys, i'm in the middle of building a 03 Vibe GT. I have the MM6 componets for the front, and just purchased the <2>MM2124
12's yesterday. I was curious if the Polk/MOMO carbon series C300.2 would be able to power both of these??? I don't have alot of experience with subs. Always used a 8 or 10 to complete a system, but they were mostly designed for clarity. I wanna hit, but keep my clarity. Would it be a better idea to only use <1> 12????? Thanks in advance for any responses.

I would not recommend using the C-300.2 configured in the bridged mode to drive a pair of the MM2124 subwoofers because this amplifier is not a 2 Ohm mono stable amplifier. You can run it in the stereo mode at a 2 Ohm load without any problems.
I would recommend using the C-500.1 for this application. This amplifier is 2 Ohm Mono stable and has a power rating of 500 Watts into a 2 Ohm load.
If you have any questions regarding these amps give us a call at 800-377-7655 and we will be glad to help.
Thanks,
Kim

I love polk...but a 500.1 will not power 2 2124s
they are rated at 400 watts...youll be giving them 250 each...
you can run a 2124 off of one 300.2 though...but keep the gain down
or you could get 2 300.2s, one for each sub

I just recommended this Coustic (http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/COU801DB) in another post. It puts out an underrated 400 rms x1 or 800 at 2 ohms. Its perfect for your subs and is only $280. Coustic is a very good amp and built very well. Theyre owned by Mitek which owns MTX and Xtant so you know youre in good company.
Don't take my word for it just read some of the reviews.
Below is the link for the C-500.1

I definitely agree that these are some fine amps, my only complaint is the high price.
Take the Polk 4 channel, its $500. For that you can get a high end competition level amp like an Xtant, PPI, Orion or JL Audio. I just dont consider Polk to be in this league.
However Car Audio and Electronics just reviewed the 300.2 in this months edition and gave it very high marks so what the hell do I know?! ;)

nice amps, need to make em bigger
537 watts at 14.4 volts is barely over 500 watts
cars usually dont run at 14.4v, you have things like a/c amongst other things to cosider
in reality its closer to 12.5-13volts
i have a 2001 model RF amp thats the same as the polk c300.2
its rated at 13.9 volts and puts out 810 watts of power, a 500 watt amp that puts out 810 watts of power
THATS underrated
and all but one of those reviews say exactly what i said in my previous posts, good amps, not enough power/doesnt match up with polk's subs

250 - 260 to a mm2124 is do-able... it is, as cody states, underpowering the sub, but it will still sound good. it'll do the job, but will not be as loud as if you had more power. case in point... i've got about 230-ish on some DX10's in the ex-girlfriend's car... they sound fine... but they don't sound as good as they did with about 400-ish each on them off the 8100d @ 4 ohms.
