Homemade Basic Bi-wire Cables

I know this is a can of worms around here, so I don't want to get into the pro's and con's of bi-wiring.

Just want to know if taking some standard monster 12 guage wire and putting 1 banana plug on one end, and putting 2
banana plugs on the other end will accomplish a decent bi-wire cable?

Sure... I see no problem with that at all but then again I'm not a big biwire advocate.

If you want to DIY, you can do it a lot cheaper by purchasing Canare 4s11 bulk cable for about $0.50/foot. By doing so, you'll get a better quality wire that looks nicer and is less expensive. A 10 foot pair of speaker cables terminated with banana plugs (12) will only cost about the same price as a 50 foot spool of standard Monster cable.

I was hoping it was just that simple.
I conceived the idea in one of those rare moments of deep clarity, such as the guy who invented bottled beer must have experienced.
Of course I'm not sure I could have had the one without the other ;)

Where do you recommend getting the wire and what banana plugs would you use? I've been wanting to try DIY for awhile but just didn't have the time. Also, is the wire ok for inside the wall?

You can get the bulk Canare 4S11 cable from www.markertek.com. Comes in gray. Good quality banana plugs are readily available. Even Radio Shack has some good ones.

Don't know about in-wall installation. The cable is very thick.
