RTi12 Speaker Break in?

Hi All! Newbee question here! I just purchased the RTi12 and after reading many post here I read about speaker break, how do you properly break them in and what happens when they do break in?

I broke mine in by playing them for quite awhile at low to mid volumes. When I first got mine I was surprised how shrill the highs seemed as they did not sound that way when I auditioned them with the same equipment. Although there are varying opinions about whether or not speakers need to be broken it at all and if so for how long, I'd say mine took something like 20-40 hours of low to mid range volume before the edge on the highs disappeared.

PolkWannabie, It's funny I to was suprised how shrill the highs seemed when I got them home out of the box as well! Thanks for your advise.
