View Full Version : 3 single voice coil subs how to wire?

I'm gettin the momo 10's the original ones with the metal cone.. i'm trying to figure a way to wire them off of 1 or 2 amps.. any suggestions?

parallel into a 1.333 load
need an amp that does like 1600x1@1 ohms

The Kenwood Excelon KAC-X810 does that. If you are interested let me know. I friends at Kenwood and I can seriously save you some money.

the x810 does not do 1500 or 1600 watts rms! ... last i recall it was like an 800 watt mono amp.

my mistake. I wasnt paying attention... Its not rms that thing maxes at 1600 but is 1 ohm stable.

yeah, you need a 1600 watt RMS amp

if needed, the subs can be wired to 1.6 ohms instead of 1.33. this may make a 2 ohm stable amp less upset, should that become necessary. for 1.6, two are in parallel, and that setup is in series w/ the third.

Thanks fellaz.... i think i'm just going to stick with 2 10's for now... and then upgrade to four later.... do you think that one of the new mono plkc5001 will run those 2 subs fine.. or should i get 2 amps
