help here is GREATLY appreciated. I have been looking at the Yamaha Xv-z1400 or 2400, but am unsure. I currently have a Sony v333es hooked up to the following newly purchased Polk Speakers:

2 RTi12 Front Speakers
1 CSi5 Center Channel Speaker
1 Pair or FXi3 Surround speakers
1 Velodyne 10'' 150-Watt Subwoofer

I am using these both as Home Theater DVD AND for Music Listening (all types of music). Any Receiver Suggestions would be MOST appreciated. I would like to stay around $1500 or below if possible.

Thanks much in advance

Assuming that the Sony has preamp outputs, consider keeping it and buying an amp.

There are many great receivers out there. Personally I use Yamaha RX-V1400 and love its detailed, sweet and refined sound. Breath-taking sound on my Polks and love it. Make sure you listen to all receivers and then let your ears decide.

Since you've RTi12 you should consider a 2-channel AMP as well. RTi12 are power hungry speakers, especially if you want use them on LARGE speaker setting.

If I were you I'll simply get a quality receiver first and play with it and get use to of it and then later add a 2-channel AMP. No rush in the beginning!

My 2 cents!;)

Arcam AV-200 or the new 300.

Powers my complete LSi system with ease. Clean, defined, breathtaking.

I paid a little over a grand for my 200.

Rotel rsx1056.It's the best sounding overall receiver under 1500 period.Nothing in my opnion can touch it.

You could also look for a used Rotel rsx1065 or rsx1055.Both can be had for under 1500.00

If you want a great sounding feature machine with all the latest and greatest go with the Denon avr3805.Theres nothing on the market I feel better then the Denon for Features and flexability.

Don't mean to hi-jack your thread or just get a meaningless plug for great gear but, I have the above mentioned Rotel RSX-1055 reciever for sale at way below what your looking to spend with a little extra, I am selling this reciever with an added rotel 960BX 60W@ 8 Ohms per channel at a combined cost of 1150.00, for true 7.1 capability, shipping included, if interested PM and we can discuss. If I have step out of bounds by posting this here on your post forgive me but I never want to step on anybodies toes.
