I'm thinking about getting another amp to use for bi-amping the 150s. Right now, I'm using the HK PA2000 to power the lows at 100 WPC and my receiver to power the mids and highs.
Since I'll be transitioning to an HK receiver soon, I now have the option of using the PA2000 to power the mids and highs and move another amp to power the lows.
I'd like to throw 200 WPC on the lows, any suggestions on a good amp under $500? It doesn't need to be an HK, as it's only powering the lows.
Input is appreciated.
Thanks

The Phase Linear 400 series one goes for around $200 on ebay.....200+ wpc and very good for low impedance loads. A very fine vintage amp. I am currently using one for my 2-channel.

That looks like a damn nice amp...but no way the wife will go for that...whatever I get has to be sort of 'pretty'...although that's beautiful to me, don't think she'll agree...

If budget isn't the problem for you. (It's for me right now just too much going on)
I'm considering using an Outlaw amp for Bi-Amping my 150's, 200watts upper / 200watts lower. Looking to add the 200x7 amp in the future for Bi-amping everything.
Front 150's Bi-amped 200watts / 200watts Outlaw
Center 400i Bi-amped 110watts Onkyo / 200watts lower Outlaw
Rear 800i's Bi-amped 100watts lower HK PA2000 / upper 200watts Outlaw.
I think that would KICK it UP a thump or 2 :D

Those are the Carvers I'm looking at...Any feedback??
There are some outlaw monoblocks in the flea market, although I havent checked to see if they are sold lately. If your wanting an amp to just power the lows, Audiosource and Carver are good choices. Lots of clean power on the cheap.
Used AMC 1100 (though I hesitate now, the one member I sold mine too clipped it on the 150 - it still boggles my mind to this day).. NAD 2100, almost the same thing... Though they come highly recommended.

A Soundcraftsmen amp (take your pick) on the used market. Their built like tanks and run cool.

Soundcraftsmen looks awesome man. Beefy looking amps.
I have the PCR-800, all i can say is -- friggin amazing, as long as that fan runs - it is awesome. Loads and loads of power. Not to mention I only paid 80 bucks for it....lol
They go cheap, around 100 bucks -- 200 watts into 8 ohms, 300 watts into 4 ohms.

PM,
I'm using two TFM 35X for my rti 12s and I have been very pleased with them. Before the twelves, I had a pair of 150s. I vertical biamp them and couldn't be happier with the sound. But, that's just me. I'm a Carver fan!

With a budget of up to $500 you can also think about the Carver M-1.5t, M-4.0t or TFM 45. Any of these alone could drive your 150's and free the 2000 for other duties...
