Hey Scott,
Since I just recently decided to take the plunge into getting a projector for the HT room that will eventually be in my basement, I thought I'd tap into your experience with buying a projector. Some details on the HT room to be:
- room expects to be completed by 2006
- room will measure approx. 25' x 13'
- room will have controlled lighting
- primarily widescreen DVD's will be viewed
- reflective screen size will be 92" x 52"
I've been checking into some projector features and after doing some research on the Projector People website, have come up with what I think are the following minimum requirements (but you tell me):
- XGA projector needed - 16:9 Aspect Ratio
- at least 1500 ANSI Lumens
- at least 500:1 Contrast
KEY INFO - Budget = $2,500
I know projector models/specs and costs will change by the time I purchase a projector, but can you recommend, based on my room specs and budget, what would be great choice(s) for currently available models?
If you need more info, just holler.
Also welcome are comments from anybody else out there with a projector that can provide advice. I only remember Scott as having a projector.
Thanks! KB
