If I've learned one thing about subs, it's that you have to have patience with the set-up to reach "audio-nervana."
Over the last 2 weeks I've further adjusted the level of my 25-31PC Plus, dropping it a full increment. Certain CD's were displaying some muddiness/congestion in the upper bass region. I think I just about have it dialed in, but it goes to show you that getting it right takes the proper tools and time. I always test the sound right after work, because I've been away from music all day and it makes it easier to hear when something is not quite right. Evanescence, Creed and Linkin Park CD's were best for getting the level correct, as they display alot of mid/upper bass that can get very congested if not level-matched correctly to the sub. For those of you integrating an SVS with near full range towers, these might help get you in the ballpark (music being the priority):
XO: 50Hz
Filter: 25Hz
Ports: all open
Level: 2.5 (increments)
Phase: 0
