Ok, I now have R30's for my front and a PSW303 sub (rears and center to come later).

What settings should I set my Integra 5.4 dtr to? Front large or small? Sub on or off?
Crossover 80 or 60?

There is only one sub-out from the receiver. What do I connect this to on the 303, Line in (with y adapter) or LFE? What should phase be 0 or 180? Power- on or auto? When is the crossover knob used? When is the volume knob used?

I don't want to run my speakers via the sub amp so they will be connected to the receiver. Is this a problem?

Does the sub point toward the corner or toward the audience?
Thanks for helping out.

rlam,

There is a tremendous amount of information in this forum about setting up subwoofers if you do some research and reading back as far as a year ago (and then more even).

I'll try to answer some basic questions for you.

Try small first. Sub set to on on the receiver.

There is only one sub-out from the receiver. What do I connect this to on the 303, Line in (with y adapter) or LFE? What should phase be 0 or 180? Power- on or auto? When is the crossover knob used? When is the volume knob used?

Use a Monster sub cable (or something similar) from the receiver subout (LFE) to the single LFE input on the sub. Set the phase at 0 deg first. Put the sub in auto on (sub will turn on automatically when it detects a signal). Crossover knob not used here since you are going with the signal crossovered at 80 hz from the receiver. Initially set the volume to 10:00 about 1/3 volume and work your way up from there. You should calibrate using the Sound and Vision or Avia setup disks.

Right. If you use the LFE sub cable out of your receiver to the sub you will not have to do what you mention. This is not a problem at all.

Try placing the woofer facing the audience first.

There's a lot of reading you can do here on the forum. If you still have some questions after your setup let us know.
