SVS 20-39CS and amp?

Can I pull the plate amp off my Phase Tech Octave 1.0 sub and use it for the SVS? It is rated at 240 watts contiuous at 8 ohms. Is there any danger in using the plate amp with the sub enclosure? Thanks, Jeff

I dont think the amp could damage the sub, but the amp may not be able to handle the 4 ohm load. Also, the amp may have built in EQ for the phase tech driver and enclosure. I tried using 2 old subs amp for my Tempest and it worked ok but the new plate amps are pretty cheap and had more features than my amp.
