Now that I have my new cherry Lsi7's in a newly-established 2-channel system (Parasound PHP 850 pre-amp, Harman Kardon PA 2000 amp, and Cambridge Audio 640 CD player), I'm looking for a small "musical" subwoofer (small due to WAF -- gotta hide it).

Any recomendations? My budget is $400 new or used. It doesn't need to go very low, just nice and efficient. A Hsu would be great, but it's too big to hide in the living room.

Thanks.

Small musical and cheap doesn't work well.take a trip over to audiogona dn look at the used REl Q series.they are extremely musical and very small.

Velodyne makes a SPL series thats very small.SPL 800 might fit the bill.

You will need to just about double your wanting price if you want a sub thats small and musical.

Thats my opnion

If you can find a sunfire mini junior used, I think thats the smallest you can get for a decent sub. Finding one used is the best chance to come close to $400 for that one.

How about an Atlantic Technology T70PBM. It's a 10" sealed box and small enough for the WAF. It weighs 38 lbs and measured at a small footprint of 11.38"W x 16.5"H x 14.9"D (takes up around 1.4 cubic foot of floor space). I have one and very happy w/it. Sound & Vision tested it, and it can go down to 25Hz. Of course, it won't even come close the SVS PB1, but the SVS is much bigger.

I HIGHLY recommend this little sub kit from Parts Express. Easy to build. Extremely good for music and holds it own for HT.

Here is the link:

Dayton 10" Titanic MKIII sub (http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=300-760)

And here is mine:

Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into all of them. It may take me a few weeks, though. I'm still in the dog house due to my recent purchases.
