View Full Version : are the RTA12's an upgrade from the RT1000 series?

I currently have the RT1000 series speakers, bought about 7 years ago. They work very good, but I have an opportunity to pick up a brand new pair of RTi12's at a good price.

Is the RTi12 a significantly better speaker? I am concerned that losing the sub on the RT1000(while it is small, and I have a main sub anyway) will feel like I am losing part of the sound.

any opinions?

I have a set of 12's in a secondary setup that performs better than all but the best standalone subs (SVS, HSU etc.) in the low end when properly powered.
