View Full Version : LFE or Normal

My old Sony receiver used LFE, so on the back of my Infinity sub I had it switched to LFE.

On my new Onkyo 601 receiver there is no setting that I can go into to change the LFE, so I don’t think that it uses LFE. I can go in and set the crossover.

I still have a single cable coming from the receiver and connected to the left input on the back of the infinity sub.

My questions are, I have the switch on the sub set to Normal now. Is that correct? Does the Onkyo use LFE and not label it? Is there a difference between setting the switch on the sub to Normal or LFE?

Thanks for any replys.

Set the sub to LFE. This input is unfiltered, as opposed to the Normal input, which is processed through the low pass filter in the sub.

Use the Oink to set all speaks to small and the xo to 80 Hz (or higher if you have smaller speakers).
