HI guys,

I'm sure you all will have several wonderful ideas. I am looking for something that will have a good "timbre" match(as so many of you say is needed). I am just getting in to the whole audio thing and can already see how easy it is to catch the bug. Currently upgrading one thing at a time. I purchased Mskeezers' Yamaha rx-v1300 which is currently on it's way and am looking in to getting a dedicated 2 ch. amp for the sdas as well. One thing at a time though as I live in am apartment and can't really turn them up. I'm running thme with a Royay Sound rx 5000 reciever and have not been able to find any info on it. I am sure this has very low output so I am sure with the yamaha I will definitely be stepping up even though I must say that the speakers really don't sound bad from what I'm sure is a horrible reciever.

thanks alot guys for taking the time to help a newbie really appreciate it.

derek

P.s. would appreciate any info on the royal sound if anyone has any; also any other suggestions would be appreciated.:D

other than custom building your own, there is no perfect timbre matched center for the sda series as far as i know. i use a pair of monitor 5's (same midbass and tweeter as the sda) this was the best timbre match for my rta 12's (as opposed to the centers on the market at the time). you will see some threads from the past about using a pair of speakers as a center channel, most with good results. i love the monitor 5's being used as my center, and have a feeling it would work well with you, especially with such large main speakers as the SDA 1's. hope this helps
