how many ohms?

how many ohms is this driver? i know ohms vary depending on how you wire the sub but say i have just one driver.

the site says its a dual 2 ohm vc, what does that mean? does that mean its 4 ohms?

One driver can be 1 Ohm, 2 Ohm or 4 Ohm. There are two seperate vc's. Wired in parallel is 1 Ohm, series is 4 Ohms and if you use only 1 coil it is 2 Ohms.

My Tempest uses two 8 Ohm VC's, I wired them in parallel so the amp sees a 4 ohm load.

The one Stryke AV12 driver can be 3 different impedances just for versatility. There are two seperate voice coils on the driver. The way you hook up the coils changes the inpedance the amplifier sees. The first link shows some hook-up diagrams and the second explains why they use two coils.

What project are you thinking of using this for?

No problem, I thought the diagrams would make things clear, it can be confusing if you have never seen a DVC sub before. Are you making a sub for you room or car?
