After saving up a couple of bucks, I tried to contact a local seller of a SDA SRS 2.3 tl's to see if I can convince him to let them go for a cheaper price. I may have mentioned this on one of the threads that the gentleman cancelled the transaction. He called me back yesterday and asked me to pick them up. Not only did he gave me a tight a$$ deal, he also threw in a Sony CDP-CX235 and a Hafler DH-500 power amp for another sweet deal. Here they are guys, hope you enjoy them.
Thanks,
Glenn

My appology for the dark and blury shots:( I'll try to make them as clear and bright as possible when I upgrade my system showcase. Now I understand what the other guys are talking about these speakers. They are just great!! I'll be doing a lot of listening with my cds for the next hmm, years.....:D
Thanks again for looking guys.

Congratulations.
You'll want to switch the speakers around. SDA drivers (the 2 on each speaker) belong on the outside rather than the inside. The label on the back of each speaker should say which is left and which is right.

Gatemplin - I think the owner may have done some modification on the amp. The RCA connectors have been replace with a gold plated one(not sure which kind) and I am not sure if it comes with fan inside but it is kind of loud when nothing is playing. He is a certified electrician (he showed me his certificate). Other than a coffe cup mark on one of the speakers, they are in minty condition.

They are placed correctly, those 2.3's with the doughnuts on the mids are different then the other 2.3's.
Enjoy

Hahah:) They are in located safely in my garage. I need to find some time to set up the room where it's going to. I couldn't resist to hook them up right away and listen to them. I shouldn't have hooked them up, they sound so good, I don't want to move them any more :D .

I remember now that Hoosier mentioned this type of speaker in another thread a few months ago as a very early example of SDA SRS 2.3s. I didn't realize these required an unconventional placement configuration (SDA drivers positioned to the inside) as well as having the unusual doughnut drivers. Seemed to have something to do with adjusting output to get the speakers to sound good with the unusual driver arrangement. I thought these were built before the SL3000 tweeters became available.

It is my understanding that these stranglings should have the 2 drivers towards the center. The donuts are a resonance control for the SDA function and they should be towards the outside. I've never owned these particular ones but this is the story I have heard. Congrats!

I had a friend who had a DH500 power amp. It does indeed have a fan; plus it has MOSFET transistors. It is the big brother to my power amp. Peace.
