Originally interested in the Cambridge azur 540A but finding it just out of my reach at the moment, I was wondering if anybody could tell me how the "Classic" A500/300 (or other integrated amps, if they exist) stack up against their newest sibling.

Also, I see that NAD (hope that's right) makes cheaper models - any experience with those?

The A300 (v2) sold for $200 at http://www.northamptonaudio.com/ but they don't carry it anymore - does anybody happen to know if somebody else still carries this (the Cambridge site seems to imply they're still making them) and how it performs?

Hah, you guys are going to hate me! 280's too high - 200's just right. As it is, the only way this is actually going to work is by not counting shipping in my estimate of how much this will cost (parent's approval) and unfortunately (but this isn't a biggie) buying cables at best buy with a pile of gift certificates!:D If this works, I'm going to be f%^k'n amazed!
