One Step Closer

Hey Guys,

I am finally one step closer to home ownership. Just got off the phone with the mortgage company, and everything looks good.
It was'nt yesterday.

Check this out: My real estate broker Mac and I were supposed to go out Saturday to put a house under contract ok. Mac told me he had to go out of town, but would send his assistant June in his place. Got with June looked at two homes in different sub-divisions I chose a three bed room, three full bath two story home signed a contract. I'm happy...

Then yesterday I get a call from June saying she had to tear up the contract. Whaaaaaaaaaaat... They tried to call me at work and could not reach me. Anyway, it seems Mac had come back that morning asked how it had gone. June told him about the house and Mac went to the agent demanded my check be returned and he tore up the contract. He got on the phone while I was talking to June and told me that ," that was not the house for me". He had picked out a house in the other sub-division and it was larger, 2200 sq ft. vs 1570 sq ft, It was a corner lot . 4 bd rm 2.5 baths, and cost less. He picked me up ten mins later, I put the new one under contract. Then came home and had a drink.

Mac's thing is growth, I needed a home that 8 out of 10 people would love to buy. So he picked something with very high resale value. He's thinking about the next house already... I'll just be happy to play my system like I want, and to be able to Bar-B-Que.

Closing on July 23rd. Yea Man !

It's scary making that big commitment but you'll never regret it. Now to make that house a home! Post pics.

Damn right it's scary, seems we hit a snag. The first house I found HomeBanc had a good payment in place. SunAmerica can't seem to find that. So my agent sent her back fishing. I'm sick of this already...

Congratulations! I just bought my first condo last friday so I am a homeowner now. I move in Friday. I am so damn excited. My parents are so happy too. I'm 24. So congratulations and enjoy!

first let me say congrats to bgaskins, I'm twice your age in August.

Third follow up: I got a call from HomeBanc and the good faith estimate is in the ballpark. SunAmerica is way off base $ 205 more a month. OK it's first of the month lets see... Mac's plan or, thirty day notice, Mac's plan or... Forget Mac's plan I want a house.

I called and found out the agent in the first sub-division still had my contract, HomeBanc still has the mortgage money, and the house is still available. We can close on the 30th. I like Mac, I even like his dream. However, I reserve the right to choose where, and how I spend my money.

He just wants to help himself, and me get some extra cash." I'll just be happy to play my system like I want to, and to be able to Bar-B-Que". Go figure.

I'm dense but it sounds like the mortgage payments for the second house is much higher then you originally anticipated? That's a bummer but I think it's wise to proceed cautiously and not make a decision too quickly. We know a few friends who mortgaged themselves to the hilt. Now, although they have a great house, they don't have much disposable income for other things like travel and toys. It's all about balance. That and I'm very conservative when it comes to debt. ;)

I went with HomeBanc they had the house, and mortage I really wanted anyway. See, it's all about the home entertainment. I can place my equipment in this one much better than the other.

I'm all in, meaning I won't be visiting Vegas in October as planned.
But I realize nothing compares to buying your own home. It is truely worth the ultimate sacrifice. You save, and invest, and get to live in that investment at the same time. Thats a win win win. Many over extend when buying. I myself am purchasing a home that should have a two income household. I'm single, and I don't have any kids. I should buy less house. But, I throw so much money away on #$%^&* it's not funny.

This is my way to cut the waste. If I don't go anywhere for the next two years it's alright. Maybe someday I'll get to share my story, all I'll say now is " to God be the glory..."

First walk through on the 19th @ 3:30 pm, second walk through on the 26th @ 3:30 pm, closing on the 30th at 10:00 am. I Can't even breathe.

It's obvious that you feel it's worth it so go for it! :D As I said, I'm pretty conservative with debt so we purchased a house with the idea that my income would support us if needed when planning a family.

Lol. You'll manage. At the very worst you'll pass out and start breathing again... I spent the first night in my condo thinking, 'MY GOD! WHAT HAVE I #($*#(*#$(!! DONE'. You won't regret it.

The closing date is coming up. Best start packing. ;)
