Best remote I have owned so far: Harmony SST-659
No codes to punch in. Just enter your model numbers to the website and it does the programming for you. Also sets up your macros automatically via website after you answer a few questions. Cost around $199.

You can make it say whatever you want on the screen, which is kind of cool. Still haven't had to replace the batteries on it yet. Mine is black and it lights up blue.

My vote Harmony. SST 768. My 768 controls 3 receivers, 3 dvd players, 1 cd player, 4 tv's, Split system ac, 2 vcr's. Also I have 15 one button activities set up. TV listings right on the remote also!

I also vote for the 768... I've had one for a few months and it's fantastic. It put about 7 remotes in the drawer between the 3 separate systems it now controls. And having their database of codes online makes it so much easier. Re-programming the buttons is as easy as the graphic of the remote on their web page, and clicking which one you want to make different.
And... I'd highly recommend to buy from this fine site (http://www.ezconnection.org/harmonyremote.htm), excellent communication and a great guy.
