View Full Version : Do you, E-mu?
I do, do you?
For those who feel the Toshiba 3960 gives mighty performance - you may wish to invest your time and a small amount of change into the Emu 1212m soundcard.
You wont regret it.

Any reason why you say that? You just got this card didn't you?
In short, this E-mu card is phenominal. It makes the Toshiba un-bearable to listen to. Positively addicting...

WHat model did you get? The 1212m looks interesting.
I got the 1212m card. Paid full retail ($200), but I have no regrets. It is making this Toshiba sound worthless.... which anyone who has heard the 3960 from Tosh knows that not true. But this card is just THAT good.

Awesome, I'll have to check that card out. Very nice specs, and the features are robust, to say the least. Thanks, for the heads up.

I think the Toshiba already was unbearable to listen to.A soundcard didn't need to make it sound that way to me.

:D
Dan,
To each their own, enjoy the placeabo.
;)
Just a follow up. The E-mu still R()XoR.
On a more serious note, it was brought to my attention that my comments in this thread may be harsh.
I am not going to make any attempts to rectify them, only to give further explination.
The Toshiba in question (model 3960) is no doubt a remarkable player for the money. She sets quite a new standard for what can be achieved for the price point.
However, as is common with electronics, E-mu is taking the audio card pro industry by storm, setting new standards for what can be achieved at its price point.
Coupled with excellent software (foobar2k), the combination can present an incredible value.
If one is open to the idea of using their pc for a source, or simply enjoys using the PC for music playback.... check out the E-mu. You will NOT be disappointed, this is my "ATC" garauntee. heh
