Speaker break-in & more?

What is the break-in period for RTi12's?

We've got a Denon 2800 and are now wondering if we should set the speaker size to large. Maybe I should look for the manual and see what it says, but any advice would be nice.

Also, what is bi-wiring and how do you do it? I've tried to educate myself on the subject here in this forum, but it all seems to be over my head :confused:

Denon DVC-2800? Instead of bi-wiring, I would look into bi-amping them. Get a separate amp and run the preouts on the receiver to amp. Disconnect the metal plate behind the speaker connectors on your RTi's. Run wire from the receiver to top connectors and wire from amp to the lower connectors. This will result in your receiver running the mids and high, amp running the lows.

I have RTi150's, the predecessor for RTi12's and the lows need a little more juice than the receiver puts out. I am currently running the lows with a 2*100W, 45A amp. I have a 2*500W amp on its way, I am thinking of using it for DIY subwoofer but I will try that with the RTi's to see how well they play with that much power.

OK....let me try!

Run two sets of speaker wire to each speaker. Connect one set of speaker wires to the bottom set of terminals, and the other set of speaker wires to the top set of terminals. To make it easily identifiable connect the wires with the lettering to the positive terminals (red), and the ones without lettering to the negative terminals (black). On the receiver end, twist the 2 positive wires together to make one and connect to the positive terminal, then twist the 2 negatives together and connect to the negative terminal. Make damn sure you have your wires right! Double and triple check!
Now, turn the system on and see if you can tell the difference. Some say you can and some say you can't! ;)

Actually, I was going to ask about bi-amping, but don't want to go over my head here. First I'll try the bi-wire and see how that works. Thanks !
