I just got back from this show........HILARIOUS!!!!!

I asked how many seats were open at the ticket counter and she said that it was 81% empty. Benefits would be no shortage of seats.....the other is not a lot of irritating people.

There were slow parts, but overall the movie had me ROLLING. I would definitely recommend this one.....Without giving any parts away, there were some scenes that had be laughing for 5 minutes after.

Go out and see it....if you're up for a funny take it easy movie....

Is this along the lines of Roxbury, Elf, or Old School in terms of hilarity?

Personally I hated Roxbury.....never saw Elf.....and it's funnier than Old School IMO.

This movie was awesome. It had more of a story to it than I had thought that it would, but the parts that will make you laugh will REALLY make you laugh.....

I think Anchorman looks much better than Will Farrell's other movies. Most critics (like we care) are being kind as well. Check out this review if you're curious enough. CHUD usually has pretty good reviews.

There were parts where I was smiling, but hoping that it would be funnier than just a little ha ha thing.......and it came through.....

When someone else watches this and chimes in, I might mention some of the parts where I was on the floor laughing so hard....

I thought it was absolutely hilarious. Old School made me smile and giggle this one made me pant and stomp my feet. Granted, I didn't see Old School in the theater and get the whole laughter frenzy vibe, but this one also seems like it'd be more funny in the repeated watchings.

This is a DEFINITE purchase when it's out on DVD.......When I saw "the scene" I immediately thought of Tommy Boy.......;)

Old School still does it for me more than Anchorman. I guess a lot of the humor in Old School is much more dry, and I really like that stuff. Dry Ferrell humor is brilliant. Anchorman was the polar opposite of dry. And very hilarious. I was laughing and giggling the entire time.

I don't wanna be a party pooper but this movie suck ass. I like Will on SNL, but not on this movie. I took four buddies to watch this last night, and they all felt the same way, should have watch King Arthur instead....

I don't like comidies much but the wife does. Is this worthy of a blind purchase?

She does. She has enjoyed his previous films so I'll take a risk and buy it blind.

Big fan of comedies here........and I didn't like it. I was ready to turn it off and do something else, but stuck with it anyway. The cameo scene with Tim Robbins, Luke Wilson, and Ben Stiller was probably the best for me. The tiny Rubix Cube during one of the scenes made me smile - that's about it. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood.

we watched it last night, was funny as heck.. and that whole 70's feel was cool... i liked that as much as the movie itself..

Best part of the movie was the smokey and the bandit outtake at the end. Maybe I should have just purchased that.

I thought the movie was pretty poor - not even worth a rental let alone purchase....

Oh well,

Michael

what was you expecting from it? It's a slapstick movie... its not meant to be taken seriously.. like the naked gun movies, and the horror slapstick movies.... ah well different strokes i guess

This is the thing about comedy - people all have different senses of humor. There are people who will live and die by the Monty Python / British dry style of humor, and others who could watch it and think it was just absolute nonsense.

Same applies to what I'd call the Will Ferrel style of comedy (he wrote and starred in Anchorman). I personally think it's hilarious (as do a majority of the people I know) but there are just some out there who don't get it.

I pity those people ;)

funny...

we got this and Napolean Dyanamite and I was expecting to not like ND and love this one, turned out the other way around for me. It had some funny parts and was an okay movie, but I didn't like it as much as everyone else...

That is funny maniac, we rented both last Napoleon Dynamite and Anchorman last weekend too...watched both, and enjoyed ND more too. Not that Anchorman didn't have a couple of funny moments...just not enough I thought, considering how freakin' funny Will Farrell is.

Spooky. I too also rented Anchorman and Napoleon together.

In my opinon it doesn't even touch "Old School" or "Elf". I was really disappointed in Anchorman. It was the same old Will Farrell. I am afraid he might turn into Adam Sandler.

Personally the best comedy that I have seen in sometime has been Shaun of the Dead. That movie is destine to be a classic.
