Ok you guys, anybody out there who hasn't watched this DVD needs to do so. It is an incredible (true) story of two young mountain climbers that set out to scale the 21,000-foot Siula Grande in Peru in 1985. I don't want to say anything about what happens in the movie, except that it is done in a narrative/documentary style, and very effectively I might add. Also, those checking out the DVD shouldn't even read the summary on the back cover, as it contains a bit of a spoiler, I believe.
Anyway, check it out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Rotten Tomatoes gave this one a 92%. Click here (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/touching_the_void/) to check it out.

Just finished veiwing this movie/docu-drama.
Very moving film, and the best shot mountain climbing movie ever made. I would highly recommend this to anyone. As a blind rental I am going to run out and buy it. I have never been more hooked into a movie from the opening scenes like this one did to me.

Great book as well. Highly recommend taking the time to read it. Assuming that some of you (myself included) can pull away from the hometheater and read a book.

This is also a great read by the way - one of my many nerdy:o hobbies is collecting mountaineering books and this is a classic - Touching the Void by Joe Simpson - just my two cents.
