Please don't laugh at this one....
I'm playing around with this Windows Media Player thing, and have noticed a dilema.
On the WMP, there is a volume control. On the Master Volume control for the computer, there is "Master Volume" & "Wave". All 3 volume control can affect the volume.
So, my question? What is the best way to adjust the volume?
Also, the speakers DO NOT have their own volume control, they are passive.

I always leave the wav full blast and adjust by the volume control... its all relative.. doesnt matter which you use

Well, I went into the Properties for the Master Volume, and turned off Wave & Synth. Now, it just says Master Volume, but I still have the volume control on the Windows Media Player.
Strange.

Right. Out of sight, out of mind....
I've found that a very low Master Volume setting is best. Then using the volume on the Media Playa, that gives a very fine adjustment.
Conversely, setting the Master Volume very high, then trying to use the WMP volume results in blasting the sound no matter how careful I try to be with the control.
I guess I have to stick with a low Master Volume level.

Heh, it's even going to get more complex, as you will be able to adjust volume per application in the new "Longhorn" Windows.
I find that out of the 7 notches, I put them on the 6th or 5th, and then adjust the media player accordingly.
