Rented Hellboy lastnight.
The sound effects are GREAT. Tons of subwoofer action. Something I noticed about the LFE track I haven't noticed much in other movies was the bass was deep & tight, very hard hitting. There wasn't much low rumbling type bass.
There surrounds are also used ALOT. Very good sound effects.
I won't comment on the video, as I don't have an HDTV. The computer generated effects were as good as any other movie. They looked convincingly real. They didn't appear overly "computer generated".
As far as the story, it was OK. It kept me watching, and I never got bored. I guess that is about all you can ask for from an action movie like that.
I give Hellboy two thumbs up. Check it out....
