Nope. Yet another dry month for DVD releases. Other then Purple Rain and The Passion of the Christ, nothing else on the must buy list. Here's hoping that September is a bit better.

Any official word on a boxed set of 1 & 2? I hate to buy them separately only to miss out on a "better" deal with a set.
Then again, I'm impatient as a bastard....

Will get this one today for sure. I really enjoyed Volume 1. I hope the sound is as great as it was on vol. 1. Ron-P get that Purple Rain if you are a Prince fan. I got it last year.

Just watched the DVD yesterday and I have to say there are many many parts of the movie that have excellent audio. The did a pretty good job on this movie.

I do enjoy Princes' music and Purple Rain as well. Enough so to warrent the purchase. His music was big in the 80's and you all know that I am a HUGE 80's fan.
Do not fear for my sanity, I lost it long ago :)

I got it today at lunch time, and will watch it tonight at about 7 or 8 p.m. I talked to my friend, and he said that he was glad he got it, but it was no contest to vol.1. I will see tonight. The sound should be great. I see it is in DTS just like the first one.

KB V2 is ultimately a more satisfying movie than V1. Both certainly have strengths, but when combined the sum is greater than either standing alone.

I just got to watch this one on Thursday night. Overall, it was decent and it brought a lot of answers to some questions I had. This movie was very well displayed, and the sound was as good as vol. 1. But.....the action aspect of it all was lacking compared to the first one. There were several scenes that caught me off guard like the money bag and what happened to Elle Driver (D.Hannah). Those scenes brought me back into it just when I was about to say something "bad" about this movie. For the most part this movie was "good" at best. I liked vol.1 better. It is part of my collection and I am not mad that I got it.

We just watched it, effin COOL. You have to admit it, QT has this certain quality when he does something.
Alot of questions got answered. I hope it comes out in a box set. I rented both of them, but have held off on buying either in hopes of boxed ES, or similar.
Definitely a keeper..

Best scene was with Pai Mei other than that it was pretty boring.
The method to kill bill ? Talk about forshadowing ? You can see it a mile away !
Rent it first. If you're a fan than wait cause I'm sure there'd be 2 more editions to come. If ya can't wait that long than as the Bride says....... Someone's gonna pay !!! ;)

Boring?
This movie wasn't as action packed at vol. 1, but if you knew the actual story it wasn't going to be anyhow. Also, it's supposed to have a lot of cheese factor. That's part of the story.
I respect your opinion, just don't understand why you called it boring.

Both were very enjoyable. And yes, that old Chinaman was hilarious.

If you remember Kung Fu and Spagetti Westerns, it is a fun watch.
Personally I liked it better than Kill Bill I. And if you ignore the lame way she is tied up by Budd, it was a good movie.

Actually the trailers lead it to be action packed. Commericals kept airing Uma and Daryl Hannah duking it out ! I guess ya can't blame marketing.
Don't get me wrong. After seeing the first one I was eagerly anticipating a lot of questions answered. Didn't quite turn out that way though.
By boring I meant some of the dialog felt stilted and out of place. Particularly with Carradine !
I'm not faulting Carradine. He did well with what he had to work with. It was more of the execution and culmination of events that either slowed the movie to a halt or became anti-climatic.
No disrespect but how many times have I heard -that because Tarantino is making it cheesy, it's alright the movie is the way it is. That's not good enough. It's an easy out for him and an excuse to back up any argument.
Kill Bill (imo) has to be one of the most overated movies in recent memory. Critics loved it. Tarantino fans loved it. However it seems most regular Joes I come across couldn't care less for it.
It's a movie that doesn't appeal to the masses but more so for cult fans.

Could've been this generation's Star Wars and they give it the worst ending possible. Might as well ended it after the huge fight in Zion. "Yaay, we win..." *fade to black*... would've been way better.

I agree. That ending was a major letdown. I loved Kill Bill as a whole, but it's not supposed to be viewed as 2 seperate movies...yes they have differences, but I don't see them as being that dramatic. It's all following one story split into 2 halves.

After watching the first movie, I thought the credits of cartoons are more interesting.......

i dont understand the comparisons between part 1 and part 2 considering it originally was just one movie at one time but was spilt into two parts..its not like part 2 is a sequel or even really a part 2..just a very long intermission in between films so Miramax could make some more bucks
nonetheless the second half is more dialogue driven than action driven like the first 90 minutes (or part 1 if you prefer)
i loved the movie as a whole though

QT's the man... 'nuff said. I see this as his best work yet. He's always been a huge fan of Kung Fu movies and finally he gets to do his own. HE ROCKS!

Although I enjoyed Kill Bill, I would still have to go with Pulp Fiction as my favorite. I do feel that some of QT's movies are a little overated as well. Also, I am anticipating Hero, which I hear is also directed by QT.
