I think this bad boy will outlast me. I bought this at a second hand store for 72 bucks (pair). It's driven by a Sansui AU-alpha 507 Integrated Amp (Japan model). It's hard to imagine what it's previous owner was thinking (or not).

SDA 2B in my living room. The thing that really stinks is that the room will only allow me this less than ideal placement. But they STILL sound SWEEEEEEET!

Often, the previous owner was thinking of relieving some strain on his marriage. The larger SDAs often fell victim to the "wife acceptance factor" (WAF).;) Over the years I have seen many SDA ads where the seller starts out with something like "I really don't want to sell these, but the wife says they have to go".

Sometimes the previous owner moved to smaller living quarters and no longer had the space. I'm sure there were a few sellers who put their SDAs on the market because they upgraded or found something they liked better, but I have never seen that reason mentioned in an ad.
