Anyone seen this? My wife and I watched it last night on DVD. She loved it. She had only seen the theatrical version, years ago, and she couldn't believe how much better the SE was. I have to agree with her. The theatrical version can't even begin to compare to the SE. The characters are so much more fleshed out, the plot better developed, and the ending was mindblowing. Why Cameron decided to cut out the war subplot and the tidalwave sequence is beyond me. Honestly, I think the SE is Carmeron's best work. What do u guys think?

I picked that up aboout a month ago, and have not watched it yet. I will be checking out Kill Bill Vol.2 tonight. I will check out The Abyss:S.E. Thursday night. I looked at the features and I am not sure if this joker in Dolby Digital or Dolby Stereo. Can you let me know MSkeezer or anyone who knows?

Yeah, funny thing about the Dolby Digital. On the back of mine, it says it has Dolby Digital 5.1, but all I can get is Pro Logic. No DD. Weird...

I am watching mine now, I checked both the Theatrical and SE versions, both are only dolby digital 2 ch. But guess what, the "THX Digitally Mastered" is in dolby digital 5.1

This is a top 20 must own. I think it has been out for several YEARS. It was one of my first 25 DVD's.

Have they made this anamorphic yet?
I think there were two editions out before that wasn't.

My SE version flags are there for DD 2.0, DD EX and DTS ES. This is the THX mastered version.
I watched it over a year ago and never realized that the disc contained both versions. I will have another go at it with the extra 28 minutes.
I did notice that when I tried to get the DTS track, my receiver would only go Neo:6. I took my rears out of my theater to my new house, so I'll hook some up just to see if the rear channel is actually there.
I thought this movie did transfer nicely to 2.35:1 DVD.
