FXi5's Placement

Hi,
I have been tossing up between RTi6's and FXi5's.
Thanks to those who posted a reply to my previous thread. Greatly appreciated.

FXi5's seem to be the shot.
My quesion is, regarding placement. Do the FXi's need to be placed against a wall? As per the picture on the polk site.

In the pic they are either placed against the side or rear walls such that sound can bounce off the walls.

I need them to be placed in the open with the side wall being a window and the rear wall being several feet away? Would they still work effectively?

Any infomation on FXi placement greatly appreciated.

try it out that way, put them on top of something and see how it sounds. i don;t think that putting them there would be a bad idea. i bet you could pull it off.

Sure. Buy some stands or make your own. A couple of guys here have done that.

They'll be fine. You don't really want the sound bouncing off the walls (at least I don't).
