we watched it last night...wasn't bad, not terrific either though, just another movie.

I think we liked Rundown better.

I do agree, Rundown was a much better movie.

IMO, it was a classic lousy movie -- weak story line, bad writing, little character development, average sound quality, mediocre action scenes.... Just seemed like a movie designed to make money off the Rock's notoriety. Yeah, Rundown was better. Hopefully, the Rock's next movie will be a good one. I am hoping he becomes the next Governator. He has all the ingredients and he's already a better actor than Arnold ever was.

i think he is doing the arcade game spy hunter for his next movie.
not to sure though!

Did you catch the 'hand-off' Arnold gave him at the start of Rundown? If he has Arnolds stamp of approval...

Walking Tall wasn't overall a bad flick. I found it pretty entertaining. Sure the acting wasn't Oscar caliber but it wasn't half bad IMO. Not something to own, but worth watching. Now the Rundown is an owner. I still gotta get that. Great flick!

The Handoff from Arnold was classic. "It's your time now..." as if he was saying.

Liked it. Rundown was more ridiculous and "stunt-ish", but Walking Tall had more grit and realism.

i was so dissapointed with this movie . the original was great. this "version" actually had absolutley nothing to do with the real story of sherriff buford pusser . joe don baker did a much better job in the original. i hope the rock continues to make more movies like the rundown , this one was a dud.

I've been a walking tall enthusiast since the original came out. I agree with movieguy totally. It didn't have a soul like the original. Still, I'm glad I saw it.

You can't remake a classic and Rocky Racoon will never be another Arnold!

Yep, what F1 said, not as good as the original. Either original if you get what I mean.

Still, I watched it and it was ok.

We liked it, didn't see the original... didnt rent it for that reason though. Usually remakes never stand up to the originals.. so i never watch a movie for that reason. It was good ass kicking fun, I thought it was more realistic when the Rock got his butt kicked the first time... Its usally the star wins everytime .. Good movie rental....

I wouldn't call Joe Don Baker a groundbreaking actor either, classic or not.

You guys are both right! Bo Svenson was the GUY! ;)

I didnt actually care much for the original movie but I liked it way better than the sequels. I have NO interest in seeing Rocky Racoon's (F1 - I really like that name for him!) version.

The real buford Pusser was a very interesting guy but the movies went too much over the top. Most based on fact, but "embellished" is putting it mildly.

"Walking Tall" was a huge box office flop in 1973.

Pusser blamed the movie for his failed bid to win win re-election for Sheriff.

Wow!! I haven't seen the name Bo Svensen in such a long time. So I "googled" him....looks like he's doing quite well.

That "racoon" **** ain't funny. This was a good movie. Arnold is the past. Let some one else make some money. The Rock is doing well at the box office or he would not get the roles. Arnold is not the greatest actor either. I like the variety of film and actors that are up and coming. I read a comment on this forum about Will Smith acting "Too Black", hell that what the f#*k he is. How do you act black anyway? How do you act white? Good acting is just good acting black or white. I got almost all of Arnold's films on dvd and regardless of the acting ability the **** is just entertainment.

Somehow I suspect The Rock will survive this scathing criticism... financially anyway... however, emotionally he may remain scarred for life...

Eliminate all criticism... OK, but eliminate all praise as well. So from now on all posts about Movies, music, gear, anything must read...
"(Heard/ saw) (this/ that) the other day." Period...
Gosh what a great forum that will make... Count me in...

I thought it was funny as hell. However, Rocky the the Squirel (of Rocky and Bullwinkle) might be pissed that the names are so similar since he is the better actor. Just for the sake of fairness I sat down with my daughter last night and watched a little of Rocky Racoon's version of the movie. She said it sucked...I though she was being kind.

"can we all get along?"

Sometimes the reason for watching these dogs is making fun (ie: Mystery Science Theater).
