Im looking into getting a pair of SDA 1s. At this time I have Rti 70s and the sound with them is adequate but it isnt anything extraordinary. I have been told by many sources that the SDA models are great. Is this true. How is the bass respone on the SDA 1s compaired to my Rti 70 paired with a psw 404? Also if i got these speakers what sort of amp should i power them with? I have a Pioneer runnin 110wpc but i know thats not enough.
Any input is appreciated

Yup, we tend to love our SDA's...

Which generation 1's are you looking at? There are three, but I'll assume you have not found the original 1's. Are the tweeters next to each other (1A's) or stacked vertically (1B's)?

That said any of the models in that series are going to outperform your 70's. The SDA"s passive radiator design is just superior, IMO. On their own they should overmatch your 70's plus the 404...

As for an amp... a solid 110 wpc Pioneer is not a bad start. The 70's at 8-ohm with the 404 handling the deeper bass are not nearly the load tat the 4-ohm 1's will be full range, but it's a start. Worry about getting the 1's first...

Hopefully the SDA interconnect is part of the deal. But if it is not, you can buy or make a replacement.

Welcome to the Club...

Im trying to get a pair of SDA 1cs i think. The twqeeters are verticle. Could you tell me what would be a good price?? Is 450 fair or is that high and if its high can you point me to a pair for lower?
Thanx

If they are in good condition with no major flaws and come with the SDA cable, $450 would be a good to fair price. I've only seen one pair on ebay go for less.

If they are mint with the cable, it's a very good price.
