Hello,

I'm having difficulty with my MM465. I have hooked them up to my RF500.2 and my tweeters begin to distort at a sound level of 25 of my radio. The gain is opened at 1/3, the x-overs are turned as low as they can get (0Db) and my radio is filtering at 80Hz (i have had it higher but it didn't work). Am i giving them too much power, or do I already have a hearing problem???

Thanx...

With the volume set to this level and the gain on the amp only set to 1/3, You probably are clipping the input stage of the amplifier due to too much input voltage. I would suggest increasing the gain on the amplifier to 1/2 of its capability and reduce your setting for the volume control. This should help to eliminate the tweeter break up. What kind of head unit do you own and how is the volume control scaled?

Thanks,
Kim

I own a Pioneer DEH-P9100R head unit. I don't know exactly what you mean with 'how is your volume scaled', but if it is what I think it is.... I have turned my radio volume to 25 with a maximum of 40, so it's playing at half of its 'capacity'.

I will try to turn my gain to 1/2 and listen to it if it is working. Otherwise I will let you know. Thanks for your quick reply!

Sincerely Werner.
