Denon is ripping off us Canadians. they want $6000msrp USD for the 5805. i checked the Can. site and they want $8950msrp CAD.
now doing the exchange rate thing, i come up with $7524 CAD that's a difference of $1426 CAD. or $1137.16 USD. what's with that?why would it be that more expensive in Canada? i think i'll be shipping from the U.S. from now on,for everything.

Drakem...I am in the same boat. The 3805 is $1500 in Canada and the 2805 is $1000. I see on line I can get a 3805 for $800 US ($1000 Canadian). And those prices were quoted to me because I was a friend of the salesman's brother...
let me know if you see anywhere in Canada , possibly on line, that prices are cheaper...Thanks!

The 3805 retails for $1199 in the US, so $1500 really isn't that far out of line. As for the 5805 isn't $6000 a ripoff for it too? hehe

I agree, for less money you could buy an Anthem preamp and a big power amp like one from Outlaw Audio.

Just stick with your receiver options in your other thread(s).
